Tubing

Tubing logo
Tubing is a great activity for everyone - skiers, snowboarders, kids, teenagers and adults alike will enjoy the exhilarating ride down the hill.  Tubes and riders are transported by tow lift to the top of the hill and tubers can slide down one at a time or in daisy chains.

Tubing is located mid-mountain just above the Gondola.  Tickets can be purchased at the Tubing Center or any Northstar® Resort ticketing location.

PLEASE NOTE: All riders are required to be at least 36" in height, AND be able to independently hold on to the handles on the tube.  More than one person on a tube is NOT allowed - parents cannot ride with their child in the same tube.  Parents may ride holding on to the child's separate tube down the hill.  Saucers and/or sleds are not permitted in the Tubing Area. For more information, please call 530.562.2013

Frequently Asked Questions

Tubing locationWhere is the Tubing Hill?
The Tubing Hill is located at mid-mountain. When you exit the Gondola building, take the exit straight ahead past the Demo Tent (not the gangway on the right to the Day Lodge). Look straight up the hill and you’ll see the Tubing Center Yurt.

How many times can I go up the hill?
As many times as possible, in your hour slot. Typically, weather and snow conditions permitting, you can expect approximately 5 runs on the weekends, and more than that on weekdays. We also recommend you come early. The 10:00 a.m. slot usually has less people than the 2:00 p.m. slot.

Do I have to make reservations? What if I have a large group?
Tubing on the weekends usually sells out. We highly recommend you make reservations by calling the season pass office at 530.562.2267 (option 3), or the Tubing Center at 530.562.2013 during operating hours. If you have a large group of more than 10 tubers, ask for the tubing supervisor at the Tubing Center and we’ll see if we need to make special arrangements for your group

My children are old enough tu tube on their own, but are under 18. Can I send them to the Tubing Yurt on their own to start tubing?
We require parents to sign a liability release form for all tubers under the age of 18. Please ensure you come up to the tubing yurt at mid-mountain to sign the release form if your children are under 18. Please feel free to call the Tubing Center at 530.562.2016 for more information regarding tubing with very young children.
