It’s all about quality time with friends, new-found adventures and the stories you will tell about your weekend at Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort. Northstar™ Resort ain’t what it used to be. Get to know us all over again.
Let’s begin with a thigh burn on Lookout Mountain where you’ll find steep inclines and incredible tree-skiing that offers up fresh pow days after a storm. Meander over to the top of Comstock and Backside Express where you and enjoy a mountaintop lunch alfresco on the Summit Deck and Grille with panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Look into a private lesson that will break bad habits and get you to new levels!
True adventures usually involve maps and treasures. Northstar Resort now hosts geocaching activities for guests coming to the resort to cross-country ski and snowshoe. Geocaching maps are available at The North Face in the Village at Northstar™, and guests are invited to partake in a fun treasure hunt activity with their Global Positioning System (GPS) devices.
When you are ready to call it a day, stop in at Mikuni’s Restaurant and Sushi Bar where you wash down luscious sushi rolls with a warm Saki. After dinner, walk over to Rubicon Pizza for a nightcap and delicious dessert at the bar – you deserve it, you worked out all day and besides, you can always burn off the calories by tracking or skate skiing, or snowshoeing on nearly 40 kilometers of carefully groomed, scenic trails at our Cross-country and Snowshoe center.
With our Stay and Ski FREE package starting at just $103 per person, why go home? Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Condo or Mountain Home lodging guests enjoy free access to the Recreation Center. Stretch out your muscles with a few laps in the heated pool, relax and unwind in one of the outdoor spas. A quick shuttle ride will take you from door to door.
Looking for luxury in The Village? Reserve a Great Bear or Iron Horse villa, located steps away from restaurants, ice skating, art galleries and shops and enjoy expansive views of your mountain surroundings and/or the vibrant Village below.
Start the day off right with a steaming cuppa joe from Starbucks, easily found on your way to the Gondola. Starbucks will give you the buzz you need to tear up the mountain until lunch. If you need something more substantial, grab a big breakfast burrito a few steps away at Big Wave Burritos & Wraps.
After a long day on the mountain, sink into a comfy booth at Rubicon Pizza bistro with an ice-cold draft and their specialty Thai Curry Pizza. Timbercreek Restaurant and Bar offers up tasty burger or salad as well as a number of flat screen TVs tuned to the best sports games. Those who want to stay outside can cozy up to the fire pits next to the ice skating rink and enjoy s'mores and a hot toddie rinkside. There is an oasis of comfy chairs and lounges around the rink and two bars on either side.
For those who can't decide between wine or shopping, stop by the Grapes + Grounds located inside True North. Shoppers can have their ski boots fitted and browse through the latest fashion and gear while sipping wine (which are complimentary on Saturdays)!
Wish you could try those new skis or boards you read about in Ski or TransWorld? Visit the Ski and Snowboard Demo Center next to Northface for a whole new experience on the mountain. If you like your ride, check out Butterbox for Burton, K2, Academy and O-Matic new snowboards.
Have your Gortex gloves lost their warmth and waterproof protection? Tired of the scratches on your Smith or Oakley sunglasses? Swing by True North for new gear, hydration packs, and the latest clothing fashions. Or, check out Butterbox for Burton, Volcom, and Nikita brands. The shops in the Village at Northstar keep explorers well outfitted for any mountain activity.
