Media Lift Ticket Policy

Northstar welcomes members of the media to experience one of North America’s finest year-round mountain destinations. A personal visit is a great way to get better acquainted with the mountain and the wide variety of activities and amenities Northstar has to offer. We'll be happy to show you around, address any questions, and help ensure you have a memorable stay with us. If necessary, we can arrange tours, interviews and participation in other resort activities during your visit.

Northstar extends complimentary skiing and snowboarding privileges to members of the media that come to the resort on assignment, and to those journalists that use Northstar’s press kits, press releases, and snow reports for publication. For those who are visiting, but not on assignment, Northstar offers a discounted lift ticket. Our apologies but we cannot extend complimentary or discounted passes to children, spouses or other guests. This program is for our media contacts only.

Please note that discounted lodging accommodations at the resort are based on availability and are available for those journalists working on assignment.

To arrange for complimentary lift tickets please follow these guidelines:

• Please e-mail your request at least 24-hours in advance to Jessica VanPernis at jvanpernis@vailresorts.com
• Please include a detailed letter of assignment from the publication or media outlet that includes the focus of your story, the date of your visit, your phone number, as well as any additional requests, (interviews, supplemental information, etc.) so that we may expedite your request.
• If you are a freelance or contributing writer, please include the name of the publication you are writing for, as well as the assigning editor’s name, e-mail address and phone number with the letter of assignment. If you do not have an assignment but plan to shop your article out to a few publications, please let us know which publications you will be targeting as well as which publications you’ve contributed to in the recent past.
• For those who do not provide 24-hour notice, we cannot guarantee that passes will be available.

Tickets will be available for pick-up at the Season Pass & Ticketing Office located in the Village Center Plaza by the skating rink. Please plan on presenting valid media identification.
