NORTHSTAR’S VILLAGE COMES TO LIFE WITH MORE STORE OPENINGS AND THE ADDITION OF APRÈS SKI OPPORTUNITIES

TRUCKEE, Calif. —As more shops and restaurants come online daily, the new Village at Northstar is exuding a vibrant energy unlike anything the resort has experienced before. New après ski opportunities have arrived due to extended store and ice-skating rink hours and stellar on-mountain conditions entice guests to experience a new and improved Northstar both day and night.

True North—Exclusive retailer of hard goods and ski apparel, True North is situated near the resort’s new ice-skating rink at the corner of the Iron Horse South building. Guests can find the latest men’s and women’s ski and snowboard apparel and fashion at True North from Bogner, Nils, Spyder, Obermeyer, Marker and more. The store is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Grapes and Grounds—Located inside the True North retail store, this wine and coffee bar is slated to open Thursday, Feb. 2. Featuring a variety of Starbuck’s espresso drinks and wines from a rotating schedule of different wineries throughout the season, this new offering is sure to be a hit.
Francis Copolla Winery will kick things off and serve wines by the glass or the bottle. Tasting flights will also be offered for those interested in sampling a variety of different wines. Two different wine flights will be offered consisting of four different wines each. Stay tuned for special events such as tastings with the winemakers and winemaker’s dinners.

Elite Feet—This store’s custom boot fitters understand ski and snowboard boots aren’t always the most comfortable footwear. Guests with feet looking for a bit of TLC can stop by this new store where knowledgeable staff to help select and fit the proper boot for guests. Elite Feet is located in the Lower Iron Horse North building and is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends.

Concierge—Right next door to Elite Feet is the new Northstar Village Concierge service. Assisting Northstar guests with a host of different products and offerings, the Concierge service is happy to make dinner reservations for guests anywhere in Lake Tahoe, provide local event and activity information, and provide guests with a list of services around the Lake. The new Village concierge is available daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and services all Northstar guests.

Luv Shack Bar—The heart of the weekend après ski scene, located on top of the Village Center building overlooking the ice rink, the Luv Shack is open weekends for all those wanting to enjoy a cold or warm cocktail after a long day on the slopes. Portable bars will also be stationed around the ice rink and will be open daily.

The North Face—Slated to open Monday, Jan. 30, The North Face will offer top-of-the-line outdoor gear and outerwear. The store will also feature a large Tibetan prayer wheel. Commonly used for spreading spiritual blessings and wellbeing, guests are invited to spin the prayer wheel upon their entrance to the store.

Coming Soon—Euro Snack featuring French baguette style hot dogs certain to satisfy the hunger of Northstar guests. Also coming soon are Starbucks Coffee, Earthly Delights and a S’mores Kiosk offering s’mores kits, hot chocolate and warm cocktails.

In addition to the retailers mentioned, Oakley Icon, Mine, Freckles, Butterbox, Helly Hansen, Big Wave Burritos and Wraps and the 9,000 square foot ice skating rink are all open in the new Village. Hours of operations are typically 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. however are subject to change.
