NORTHSTAR & SIERRA INTRODUCE SWEET NEW DEALS IN FEBRUARY

TRUCKEE/SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.—Skiers and riders can take full advantage of Lake Tahoe’s deep snowpack with an assortment of great deals offered at both Sierra-at-Tahoe and Northstar-at-Tahoe in February.  Together, the resorts are sharing the love by offering great values including new ski shuttle options and discounted direct-to-lift tickets.

Waterborne Ski Shuttle
Northstar-at-Tahoe, in conjunction with Lake Tahoe Cruises, introduces a unique way for South Lake Tahoe vacationers to combine a memorable day of skiing on the North Shore and cruising on Lake Tahoe with its new Ski Shuttle package.

The package includes shuttle transportation on a luxury coach in the morning from South Shore lodging areas to Northstar, where guests can enjoy everything the resort has to offer, including 16 lifts accessing 73 trails, six award-winning terrain parks, two halfpipes, 50 kilometers of cross-country ski trails and much more. After a day on the slopes, guests will be shuttled to the north side of Lake Tahoe and embark on Tahoe’s signature vessel, the Tahoe Queen, for the trip back to South Shore. The world’s only waterborne ski shuttle, the Tahoe Queen, is also Lake Tahoe’s only authentic paddle wheeler.

This aqua ski shuttle service is available every Wednesday and Friday through April 7, 2006. Pick-up times begin at 7 a.m. at various lodging properties in South Lake Tahoe. The cost of the ski shuttle is $104 per person or $41 without a lift ticket. Special group rates are available for parties of 20 or more. Discounted Tickets Available at Select Safeway Stores
Guests can save time and money with discounted direct-to-lift ticket cards available at select Northern California and Northern Nevada Safeway stores and gas stations. Sierra-at-Tahoe’s Safeway direct-to-lift ticket card is offered for a single day and is valid for any day of the season. Cost is $49 at select Safeway stores, a $10 savings off the daily lift ticket price.

Northstar guests have the opportunity to purchase a two out of three day direct-to-lift ticket card available for any day of the 2005-2006 winter season. Lift cards are not available in Lake Tahoe or Truckee Safeway locations.

The Sierra Shuttle
Leave the driving to someone else and board The Sierra Shuttle, transporting skiers  from Surf and Skate in Fair Oaks, Calif. to Sierra-at-Tahoe. Every Saturday through March 11, the Sierra shuttle will pick-up skiers and snowboarders from the Surf and Skate parking lot and drop them mere steps from the slopes at Sierra. The shuttle will depart at 8:30 a.m. to head for Sierra and will leave Sierra at 4:30 p.m. for its return trip.

Cost for adults is $69, $59 for young adults and $42 for children and includes the round-trip shuttle and full-day lift ticket. A shuttle ride without a lift ticket  is just $29. Passengers under age 18 will need a parent to fill out a liability release form.

Reservations are strongly recommended for the Sierra Shuttle as spots can fill up fast. To make a reservation, guests can call (916) 721-5000. Passengers in need of equipment can arrive early as Surf and Skate will be open at 7:30 a.m. every Sat. through March 11, providing guests with all of their equipment rental needs. Surf and Skate Fair Oaks is located at 12417 Fair Oaks Blvd, Fair Oaks, Calif.
