Here’s how to make the most of a weekend in the mountains. The Labor Day Sidewalk Sales, Street Fair & Art Show, September 4 -6, 2010 offers up deep discounts on summer and winter merchandise, including skis and mountain bikes, from the shops and boutiques in the Village at Northstar™ as well as more than 50 artists showcasing their work in a variety of media. The greens at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort’s golf course are in the best shape in the course’s history, according to Head Pro Pete Smith, and beginning September 20 through the end of the season, golfers can take advantage of a daily shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. Green fees will be just $50, lowering to $40 for twilight tee times beginning at 1:00 p.m. Late afternoon nine-hole play will be just $35 for adults or $20 for juniors. Golfers can also book foursomes for the price of three through the end of the season. Lake Tahoe Restaurant Week culminates with the Autumn Food & Wine Festival, September 10 - 12, 2010 at the Village at Northstar - three full days of wine and food tastings, cooking demonstrations and culinary competitions by celebrity chefs, as well as art on display, live music, kids activities and more.
