Noel Nights in the Village at Northstar™, Visits by Santa, Live Music, Fireworks to Ring in the New Year and Much More
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Nov. 29, 2010 – As the holiday season gets underway, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort has a host of activities and events planned to celebrate the season, kicking things off this coming Thursday, December 2 with the first of three Noel Nights. And, with a variety of ways to save on the slopes and shopping discounts at participating stores in the Village at Northstar, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort is sure to offer the perfect gift for avid skiers and snowboarders.
HOLIDAY TRADITIONS
Noel Nights. An annual holiday tradition, Noel Nights in the Village at Northstar feature holiday fun for the whole family. Thursday nights, December 2, 9 and 16 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., activities include roasting s’mores, enjoying holiday trees decorated by local school children, one horse sleigh rides, photos with Santa, holiday carolers, ornament decorating, live music and more. Complimentary ice skate rentals will be offered with the donation of a non-perishable food item (skate rentals regularly priced at $5).
During the first Noel Night on Thursday, December 2, starting at 6:30 p.m., the resort will host its annual holiday tree lighting ceremony, present holiday tree decorating awards to local schools, and a live performance by the InnerRhythms dance troop.
On December 9, Noel Nights attendees will enjoy performances by the North Tahoe High School Jazz Band and the Capital Skate Group on the skating rink. December 16 will feature local Girl Scout and Brownie troops singing holiday carols, and a Nutcracker performance by the Tahoe Youth Ballet. That evening, guests are also invited to enjoy a $40 3-course menu at Baxter’s Bistro & Lounge to benefit the Tahoe Youth Ballet.
Shops in the Village at Northstar are also getting into the holiday spiritduring Noel Nights! Enjoy 25 percent discounts on all regular priced merchandise at True North, The North Face, Butterbox, Mine, 001 Oakely and the Northstar Logo Company. And, enjoy other festivities like the eggnog bar at 001 Oakley, wine and chocolate tasting in True North, hot chocolate at Alpine Photography, Hot Sake and Xango cheesecake for $10 at Mikuni, and other fun! Shoppers and diners who spend $500 or more in the Village at Northstar between November 1 and December 26, 2010 are invited to redeem their receipts at the Tickets & Season Pass office for great rewards! Restrictions apply.
Holiday Festivities. Complimentary live music will entertain guests daily from December 18-24 and December 26-30 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Village Stage. Santa Claus will visit the shops in the Village at Northstar from December 18-24 between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day to give candy to good boys and girls and listen to their holiday wishes! And, kids are invited to visit participating stores in the Village to write a letter to Santa. These letters will be special delivered in time for Christmas.
Interdenominational Christmas Eve Service. For those celebrating the Christmas holiday with Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort, Tahoe Resort Ministries will host two services at the resort in advance of the holiday. The first will be on-mountain at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 19 at the top of the Vista Express lift (lift ticket required). Guests are also invited to participate in an interdenominational candlelight Christmas Eve service in the conference rooms located on the lower level of the Village at Northstar beginning at 5 p.m. on December 24. The 45 minute service will finish in candlelight, and hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be provided. All are welcome.
Fire & Ice New Year’s Eve Celebration. Guests are invited to ring in the New Year with Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort at the annual Fire & Ice New Year’s Eve party, open to all ages in the Village at Northstar. There will be live music and entertainment throughout the day including fire dancers, fireworks, skating, food, drink specials and other fun. The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. (East Coast time).
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will continue the New Year’s festivities with a celebration in the ballroom complete with entertainment, an extravagant dessert buffet, open bar, champagne toast, and dancing until 1 a.m. Tickets are $65 for hotel guests, and $95 for non-hotel guests.
