ANNUAL BEERFEST & BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL RETURNS TO LAKE TAHOE
Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort’s Popular Event Features Live Bluegrass Music and Beer Tasting
TRUCKEE, Calif. – June 22, 2009 – Northstar® Resort’s popular Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival will return to the Village at Northstar™ on July 11, 2009 featuring live performances by three premier bluegrass bands, Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek, Head for the Hills and Loose Canon, as well as beer tasting by more than 20 regional breweries. Visitors are invited to enjoy great music and the outdoors while sampling ale from some of Northern California and Northern Nevada’s most popular brewers.
The festivities get under way at 2 p.m. Beer will be served until 7 p.m., and live music will continue until 7:30 p.m. in the Village at Northstar. Loose Canon will take the stage at 2 p.m., followed by the Colorado bluegrass band Head for the Hills at 4 p.m. and headliner Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek at 6 p.m.
Two ticketing options offer guests the Beerfest & Bluegrass experience of their preference. For just $30, guests receive a commemorative pint glass, unlimited, responsible beer tastings and are invited to enjoy the live music. In addition to what the $30 ticket includes, the $60 LUX package also includes a Beerfest & Bluegrass event T-shirt, appetizers and access to the VIP area to enjoy premier viewing of the bluegrass bands. Guests are encouraged not to drink and drive. Complimentary shuttles will be offered from Northstar Resort to Truckee and Kings Beach, departing at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Other events taking place at Northstar Resort on Saturday, July 11 include a Nike Demo Day at the golf course, a complimentary outdoor movie showing of the musical comedy, Mamma Mia!, and a star gazing tour. On Sunday, July 12, the Northstar Resort golf course will host both adult and junior golf clinics, and the resort will offer a complimentary bike maintenance clinic. And, July 10-12, Northstar Resort will host the second Giant for Women Ride & Retreat of the season, with a focus on mountain biking.
