HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES KICK OFF AT NORTHSTAR-AT-TAHOE™ RESORT ON DECEMBER 3

Popular Noel Nights, Live Entertainment and New Year’s Celebration Return

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Nov. 30, 2009 – Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort is kicking off the holidays on Dec. 3 with its popular Noel Nights series, along with a month full of events and activities designed to celebrate the season. And, with great shopping discounts and special stocking stuffer ideas, Northstar® Resort is bound to create a happy holiday season for skiers and snowboarders.

A HOLIDAY TRADITION
An annual tradition, the Village at Northstar™’s Noel Nights feature holiday fun for the whole family. Hosted on Thursday nights, December 3, 10 and 17 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., activities include roasting s’mores, enjoying specially decorated holiday trees, one horse sleigh rides, shopping specials, photos with Santa, holiday carolers, and more. Complimentary ice skate rentals will be offered with the donation of a non-perishable food item (regularly priced at $5).

During the first Noel Night on Thursday, Dec. 3, the resort will light its 35-foot holiday tree at 6:30 p.m. In addition, on Dec. 10 there will be amateur skating performances throughout the evening.

The boutiques in the Village at Northstar are getting in the spirit as well with creative offerings during Noel Nights. Shoppers visiting True North, The North Face, Butterbox, Mine, 001 Oakley and the Northstar Logo Co. will receive a 25 percent discount off of regularly priced merchandise. True North also will feature wine and chocolate tastings. The North Face plans to sponsor a GPS scavenger hunt throughout the Village at Northstar, and 001 Oakley will offer a custom goggle bar for fittings and sizing. And, shoppers who spend $500 or more in the Village at Northstar between Nov. 1 and Dec. 26, 2009 are invited to redeem their receipts at the Tickets & Season Pass Office for great rewards! Restrictions apply.

Noel Nights take place during TGI Thursdays as well, so guests can enjoy free evening Valet parking (with dining validation) in the Village at Northstar, as well as a variety of dining specials at restaurants such as Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Baxter’s Bistro & Lounge, The Chocolate Bar, Olivier Napa Valley and Rubicon Pizza Company.

Complimentary live music will entertain guests beginning Dec. 19 from 2-5 p.m. daily on the Village Stage, and Santa Claus will visit the shops in the Village at Northstar from Dec. 19 through Dec. 24 between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to give candy to good boys and girls and listening to their holiday wishes.

For those celebrating the Christmas holiday with Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort, Tahoe Resort Ministries will host an interdenominational candlelight Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 in the conference rooms located on the lower level of the Village at Northstar beginning at 5 p.m. The 45 minute service will finish in candlelight, and hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be provided. All are welcome.

Guests are invited to ring in the New Year with Northstar Resort at the annual Fire & Ice New Year’s party, open to all ages. There will be live music and entertainment, fireworks, skating, food, drinks and other fun. Live music and entertainment will be offered from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., including fire-dancing performances. The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.

GIFT GIVING MADE EASY
This year, gift the gift of skiing and snowboarding with Northstar Resort’s 6-Pack lift ticket for all-mountain access for less then $50 per day. A great stocking stuffer idea, the 6-Pack is valid any six days of the season but must be purchased by January 1, 2010.

Groups are invited to celebrate the holidays at Northstar Resort with a variety of winter activities, group packages and a special holiday dinner party for 20 people or more.

Choose from a buffet dinner including appetizers, three delicious entrées and dessert for $40 per person or a satisfying four-course plated dinner for $55 per person. Then plan to work off those calories by taking a few laps around the ice skating rink within steps of the dinner party.

Each dinner party attendee receives a complimentary Northstar Resort lift ticket (some restrictions apply), so for groups wishing to get a few runs in together before enjoying a delightful plated or buffet dinner, this is the perfect opportunity.
