THE VILLAGE AT NORTHSTAR™ TO WELCOME NEW DINING OPTIONS THIS WINTER

New Eateries, Specialty Foods Round Out Resort’s Food & Beverage Offering

TRUCKEE, Calif. – July 1, 2008 – This winter, the Village at Northstar will welcome new specialty foods and a fine dining restaurant, offering resort guests an even more diverse array of food and beverage options. Guests will be invited to savor the contemporary American cuisine offered by Baxter’s Bistro & Lounge, operated by Mark Estee and JJ Morgan, the owners of the popular Truckee-based Moody’s Bistro & Lounge, indulge in sweet creations by Reno-based Chocolate Bar, and enjoy ice cream, gelato and other desserts at Euro Gelato.

Baxter’s Bistro & Lounge will open in December 2008 featuring a lively, inviting atmosphere paired with first-rate cuisine and live music from some of the country’s top jazz acts. The unique menu and extensive wine list will keep guests coming back for more, featuring signature cocktails and appealing appetizers including oysters, charcuterie and cheeses, as well as a wine collection with something for every occasion. In addition to serving lunch and dinner, Baxter’s Bistro & Lounge will be a new hot spot for après-ski and evening cocktails.

“We are very excited to be working with Northstar and to be operating a restaurant in the new village,” said JJ Morgan, of Moody’s Bistro & Lounge. “As we have a lot of the same clientele and our service and guest relations principles are in line, it was a very natural fit.”

The Chocolate Bar, a popular retreat with locations in downtown Reno and the Summit Sierra Mall in nearby Reno, Nevada, offers a one-of-a-kind menu and atmosphere that specializes in the highest quality of chocolate. Featuring a variety of milk, white and dark chocolate creations, The Chocolate Bar serves appetizers, desserts, wine, spirits, and their signature Chocolate Bar cocktails. Guests can warm up on small plates including cheese fondue, seafood and vegetable frites, salads and other appetizing options. The Chocolate Bar will join the Village at Northstar in December 2008 and will be open for lunch, après-ski, dinner and evening cocktails.

"We are looking forward to opening our third location in the Village at Northstar this winter. The resort envisions the same direction of growth and style we do,” said Sean Sette, Owner/Operator of The Chocolate Bar. “Northstar has a lot to offer, and with the well-balanced variety of dining and shopping offered in the Village at Northstar, we are very optimistic about our future there."

Also opening in December 2008, Euro Gelato will serve gelato, ice cream, specialty chocolates, cookies, desserts and beverages. A walk-up window will allow for goodies to go, while guests will also have access to available indoor and outdoor seating. In advance of the opening of their store front, this summer Euro Gelato will operate a kiosk near the skating rink in the Village at Northstar featuring gelato, ice cream and some of the treats coming to their shop this winter.

“With the addition of Baxter’s Bistro & Lounge, The Chocolate Bar, and Euro Gelato to the Village at Northstar, the resort will offer guests an even more comprehensive variety featuring 13 food and beverage options and 22 retail stores,” said Heath Nielsen, vice president of commercial property and operations for the Village at Northstar. “We are confident guests will enjoy the dining options available to them with these new additions, as well as existing offerings by Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Olivier Napa Valley, Rubicon Pizza Company and more.”

With five locations in the Sacramento area and many first place awards for Best Japanese and Best Sushi, Mikuni brings its renowned Japanese cuisine and fresh sushi creations to the Village at Northstar and has been popular since it’s opening during the 2007-08 winter season. Olivier Napa Valley opened its Village at Northstar location in December 2007 and beginning in early July will serve crepes, specialty coffees and other delectable items.
