NORTHSTAR® AND SIERRA™ RESORTS TAKE TOP SPOTS IN LATEST INDUSTRY POLLS

Lake Tahoe’s Premier Resorts Are Ranked Among the Best in the U.S.

TRUCKEE and SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Nov. 11, 2008 – TransWorld Snowboarding, the snowboarding industry’s most respected publication, has recognized Northstar-at-Tahoe™ and Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resorts as Top 10 resorts in the country in its annual resort poll. Released in the November 2008 issue, the annual resort poll focuses on three main categories: Overall Resort, Parks, and Pipes.

Northstar Resort was ranked as the # 3 Overall Resort, as well as # 3 in the Parks category and # 3 in the Pipes category. The rankings reflect Northstar Resort’s dedication to the terrain park experience. “Our goal has always been to blend quality and consistency with a healthy dose of progression and fun factor in our terrain parks,” commented Chris Gunnarson, Director of Youth Market Development for Booth Creek Resorts. “It’s rewarding to see an acknowledgement in the polls and rankings. Northstar’s success with its park program is a testament to great planning and execution on the part of a stellar crew led by Chris Castaneda and Mike Schipani.”

Northstar Resort also ranked as the # 23 Top Resort in the West by SKI Magazine as well as the # 8 resort for Top Family Programs and # 3 resort for Terrain Parks. Northstar Resort was also voted Best Ski Resort by readers of Diablo Magazine in the Bay Area and the # 2 Best Ski and Snowboard Resort by the Reno News & Review.

Sierra Resort was ranked in the Top 10 in the Best Vibe category and the Best Value category in the 2008 TransWorld Snowboarding resort poll. “Both of these rankings really speak to Sierra Resort’s strengths,” commented John Rice, General Manager. “Sierra is well known among snowboarders for being a laid-back, chill resort where they can be totally comfortable. Our vibe makes us who we are. And families have long known Sierra as an affordable place to ski and ride. Now that is becoming important to every type of snowboarder.”

Sierra Resort was also voted #1 Best Ski Resort by the Sacramento News & Review as well as Best Day Trip Ski Resort by the Mountain Democrat in Placerville and Best Place To Downhill Ski by the Tahoe Daily Tribune. All three rankings are the result of readers polls conducted by the publications and illustrate that Sierra Resort truly is the local’s favorite resort.
