Get ready for back-to-school (back to Ski school that is!) during the Village at Northstar’s™ Labor Day Street Fair & Sidewalk Sale, Friday August 29 through Monday September 1. Village shops will have sales of up to 70% on summer and winter apparel. There will be sales up to 60% off winter ski and snowboard equipment as well as incredible deals on demo equipment. There will also be plenty of family fun in the Village with live music, roller skating, face painting, balloon artists, clowns and more. Top it all off with outdoor movies at sundown, a mini-farmer’s market, complimentary wine tasting and star gazing tours and it’s the perfect final summer weekend!

 

Guests who purchase their 2008-2009 Adult or Young Adult Double Whammy season pass at the Northstar Season Pass office during the Street Fair & Sidewalk Sale will receive a $25 gift card to be used at select shops in the Village at Northstar.

 

Wine lovers can enjoy a taste of California ’s wine country nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The Village at Northstar will host its monthly Wine Walk on Wednesday, August 27, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Wine Walk is $20 and includes six tasting stations in the Village plus a commemorative glass.

 

Also during the weekend of August 29 through September 1, the Northstar Resort golf course will be collecting donations for the Patriot Golf Day fundraising event, an initiative supported by PGA of America. All donations will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty in Iraq or Afghanistan .

 

Fall is a beautiful time of year to experience the Northstar Resort Mountain Bike Park. The new Mountain Bike 3-Pak of lift tickets gives riders access to over 100 miles of downhill and cross-country trails for only $99. The Mountain Bike Park will be open daily through September 1 and then weekends through October 5.

Available any day through September 28, this drive-and-dine package includes a round of golf at the Northstar Resort golf course plus a $25 bounceback voucher for Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar in the Village at Northstar.

 

The 23^rd Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival is annual weekend of food and wine, including seminars, grape stomping, culinary demonstrations and competitions, the mountain chef cook off and, of course, plenty of wine tasting. The weekend begins on Friday, September 5 and culminates on Sunday, September 7 with the Grand Tasting and Culinary Competition. Chef and restaurateur Stephanie Izard, winner of the fourth season of Bravo’s Top Chef, will be hosting a cooking seminar on Saturday. Events are held in Tahoe City , Squaw Valley, Carnelian Bay , Kings Beach , Truckee , and at Northstar Resort. Northstar lodging is offering vacation packages at a 15% discount.
