DOUBLE WHAMMY SEASON PASS PRICES EXTENDED, DISCOUNT OFFERED

Current Prices Extended Through November 15, Discount For Purchases By September 30

 

TRUCKEE and SOUTH LAKE TAHOE , Calif. – September 2, 2008 – Lake Tahoe ’s best season pass value just got even better with an extended deadline and discounted pricing from Northstar-at-Tahoe™ and Sierra-at-Tahoe™ Resorts. With the Farmer’s Almanac calling for a better than average annual snowfall this winter, this is the year to make sure you get your season pass and get it early.

 

Current Double Whammy season pass prices are being extended through November 15, 2008. Passholders who purchase by September 30, 2008 will receive up to $60 off the current pass prices.

 

The Double Whammy season pass allows access to nearly 5,000 acres of terrain at Northstar-at-Tahoe and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resorts. With a combined dozen terrain parks, incredible tree skiing on both sides of Lake Tahoe, 135 trails, 29 lifts, snowshoe trails at both resorts and more than 40 km of cross-country trails at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort, the Double Whammy season pass is Lake Tahoe ’s premier winter access pass.

 

Extensive trail work at Northstar® Resort has extended the ski trail network on Lookout Mountain . Three trails have been lengthened to the Martis Valley floor while a new intermediate trail, Washoe, has been created. The newly extended Martis Camp Express, formerly Lookout Mountain Express, gives skiers and snowboarders access to more than 80 acres of gladed tree skiing. Northstar Resort has also enhanced the resort’s snowmaking system on Lookout Mountain , which will make for great early season skiing and riding.

 

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort offers skiers and snowboarders the only Superpipe on Tahoe’s South Shore as well as innovative terrain parks, incredible tree skiing in Jack’s Bowl and Avalanche Bowl and long, groomed cruisers in West Bowl. Just outside the five backcountry gates, Huckleberry Canyon awaits with rock drops, natural chutes, cliff jumps and powder for days after a storm. Sierra Resort is known among locals for offering a truly authentic California ski experience.

 

Skiers and riders can choose from seven categories of pass value to suit their habit. All prices listed include the discount valid through September 30, 2008.

 

The Value Season Pass, perfect for the price-conscious, is valid at Northstar Resort Sunday through Friday and Sierra® Resort any day, excluding blackout dates at both resorts. The pass is available to adults ages 23-69 for just $339.

 

The Limited Season Pass is a great option for families. Valid at Northstar Resort any day, excluding blackout dates and valid at Sierra Resort any day with no restrictions, this pass is $449 for adults ages 23-69, $249 for young adults ages 13-22, and just $89 for children ages 5-12.

 

The College Season Pass lets students save their money for après ski fun. Valid at Northstar Resort any day, excluding blackout dates and at Sierra Resort any day with no restrictions, this pass is just $249 for college students ages 17-69. Students must present a valid college photo ID and proof of a minimum of 6 class credits for the Fall 2008 semester/quarter.

 

The Unlimited Season Pass is valid at both Northstar Resort and Sierra Resort any day with absolutely no restrictions. At $689 for adults ages 23-69, $399 for young adults ages 13-22, $109 for Super Seniors ages 70+, and for children ages 5-12, this pass is for avid skiers and riders who are on the snow all season long.

 

For skiers and riders who can’t break away from the north shore, the Northstar Resort ONLY Season Pass is valid Monday through Friday, excluding blackout dates. This pass is available to adults ages 23-69 for $299.

 

For those dedicated to Sierra Resort on the south shore, the 7-day Season Pass is valid at Sierra Resort any day, excluding blackout dates. This pass is available to adults ages 23-69 for $299.

 

Back again by popular demand, the Sierra Resort ONLY Season Pass is valid Sunday through Friday, excluding blackout dates and is available to adults ages 23-69 for just $199.

 

Passholders can add Vertical Plus to any pass for only $99. The Vertical Plus frequent skier/rider program allows pass holders to accumulate feet for each day they ski or ride. Members earn great awards, receive discounts, enjoy members’ only lift lines and more!

 

Benefits of being a Double Whammy passholder are bigger than just great value up front. Below are just some of the perks.

 

  • Treat family and friends to winter fun! Bring one guest per day on any day the pass is valid and receive $10 off an adult all-day lift ticket (ages 23-69) or $5 off a young adult all day ticket (ages 13-22), excluding blackout dates. Passholder must present pass with guest at ticket window. One discounted all-day lift ticket per passholder, applicable on day of visit only. Friends discount is not valid, regardless of pass type, on holiday blackout dates.
