NORTHSTAR™ RESORT UNVEILS NEW CONFERENCE & EXECUTIVE MEETING SPACE

Resort Amenities, On-Site Event Coordinators and Service Mindset Cater to a Multitude of Group Travelers

 

TRUCKEE, Calif. – July 9, 2007 – Northstar Resort is in the process of building out 5,000 square feet of year-round, flexible meeting space that will be available in the fall of 2007 to groups for meetings, conferences, reunions, weddings and other events. The newly renovated conference space will also feature a dedicated bar and restaurant.

 

Northstar Resort aims to be the one-stop-shop for groups interested in partnering their meeting or event with the recreational activities the resort offers. The resort can host groups ranging in size from executive retreats consisting of 10-15 people to corporate meetings hosting 200 people theater-style.

 

All of the rooms available will be state-of-the-art, featuring 50” plasma drop down screens, wireless Internet access and more. These dedicated meeting rooms range in size from 800-1200 square feet, with several that can be combined to accommodate a space totaling 2800 square feet. On-site, professional event coordinators take each group from start to finish, ensuring a smooth event.

 

Northstar Resort’s recreational opportunities can enhance a group retreat or can be the focus, while ongoing entertainment and activities at the Village at Northstar ™ are added value to every event and can be incorporated into an itinerary with no additional cost. Possibilities include:

 

• The Northstar Resort golf course can accommodate groups from 16 to 144 and offers the best value in the Tahoe area with this season’s new lower daily rates and the earliest twilight rates in Lake Tahoe. Turn-key tournaments include amenities such as on-course contests, range access, yardage guides, drink coupons, retail coupons and round-trip transportation – all for not much more than the cost of a regular tee time.

 

• With the re-opening of Northstar Resort’s mountain bike park this season, groups have a unique opportunity to incorporate the thrill of downhill riding into their event. The mountain bike park has trails for intermediate and advanced ability levels and, in partnership with GIANT bikes, offers equipment for rental or purchase. Team building events can be structured to include both cross-country and downhill bike events, as well as a picnic lunch on the mountain overlooking Lake Tahoe.

 

• In winter, Northstar Resort can accommodate groups on the mountain with savings on lift tickets, special lunches, lessons and rental equipment for both skiers and snowboarders. Ice skating in the Village at Northstar and cross-country skiing are also available at the resort, as well as snowshoeing and tubing. Special events can be set up to include fun races, obstacle courses and geocaching hunts.

 

• With spectacular panoramic views of the golf course and the Sierra Nevada mountain range, weddings at the Martis Valley Grille and Deck are intimate affairs of 60 people or fewer that leave the bride, groom and their guests wanting for nothing. For the first time this coming winter, Northstar Resort will also have the ability to host winter weddings on-site. Special incentives will be available for those interested in booking their event mid-week. Lift-accessed ceremonies overlooking Lake Tahoe are coming in the future.

 

• Northstar Resort’s creative event coordinators are happy to theme a group event and plan one-of-a-kind activities to go along. For example, a “Western” themed event included roaming horses from the stables for atmosphere, as well as guided horseback rides during the course of the evening. A “Caddyshack” event featured a drive-in, open air viewing of the movie at the golf course which participants could watch from the comfort of their golf carts. A “Winter Olympics” themed event had attendees learning the sport of curling at the Village ice rink.
