Offering a variety of free clinics, wine tastings, movie nights and other activities, plus great happy hour specials and free roller skating, Northstar Resort makes it easy on the pocketbook.

10. Stay & Play FREE™ at Northstar Resort

Come play at Northstar Resort this summer and enjoy deep discounts with the resort’s “Stay & Play” packages. Whether guests are coming to golf, mountain bike, paddle, hike or just enjoy the fresh mountain air, Northstar Resort has affordable lodging packages that are sure to suit those looking for summer recreational activities in beautiful Lake Tahoe.

 

9. Ladies Night at the Golf Course

Every Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. ladies are welcome to come out to Northstar Resort to hit a complimentary bucket of balls, receive tips from the pros and sip on discounted specialty cocktails.

 

8. The North Face Outdoor Clinics

Offered every Sunday morning starting July 1 and continuing throughout the summer season, The North Face store in the Village at Northstar will host clinics starting at 10:30 a.m. that will focus on an outdoor skill such as Geocaching or using a Global Positioning System (GPS). Clinics are free and open to all ages, and will meet at The North Face. Hikes will take place on beginner terrain. To sign up, call The North Face at 530.562.3663. Pre-registration is recommended, but not required.

 

7. Complimentary Wine Tasting on Saturdays

Every Saturday from June 16-Sept. 29, guests can wet their palates at a free wine tasting from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at Grapes + Grounds, a coffee and wine bar located inside True North.

 

6. Free Golf and Tennis Clinics

Resort lodging guests and homeowners can participate in free golf clinics offered every Wednesday at 1 p.m. June through September for golfers ages 17 and up. Reservations are required. Call the pro shop for more information at 530.562.2490.

 

Resort lodging guests and homeowners are invited to attend Northstar Resort’s award-winning Tennis Welcome Center free clinic for beginners and returnees and enjoy a comfortable, fun way to experience the game. After the clinic participants are invited to our social tennis evening. Enjoy tennis, food and drinks as you get to know others who love the game.

 

5. Activities and Events in the Village at Northstar

Guests are invited to enjoy Northstar Resort’s Sunset Movie Series this summer, taking place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from June 30-Labor Day Weekend. Movies will begin 15 minutes after sunset and are free to the public. Popular titles include Cars, You, Me and Dupree, Pursuit of Happiness and more! Chairs are provided.

 

Kids ages 12 and under are invited to participate in arts and craft activities at the children’s store Mine in the Village at Northstar every Sunday at 2 p.m. Participation is free, however kids must be accompanied by an adult.

4. Happy Hour Specials

Enjoy Happy Hour specials at the Cabana Bar in the Village Center from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. daily including the Mountain Bike Special -- $2 Budweiser and a $5 specialty cocktail.

3. Enjoy the Earliest Twilight Golf in Lake Tahoe

For those who prefer to play later in the afternoon, Northstar Resort offers the earliest twilight golf in Lake Tahoe beginning at 1 p.m. Prices start at just $39 from opening-June 14, $69 from June 15-Sept. 15, $59 from Sept. 15-closing, and $100 during the holiday period from June 30-July 4.

 

2. Free Roller Skating

Northstar Resort’s 9,000 square foot skating rink is open daily from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. and is free to the public. Guests can bring their own skates or pay $5 to rent a pair. Guests are invited to lace up their skates and participate in Retro Skate Nights every Tuesday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. DJs will spin 70s and 80s tunes on the turntables. Retro apparel is encouraged!

 

1. Free Scenic Chairlift Rides for Sightseeing and Hiking

The resort will offer complimentary scenic chairlift rides for guests interested in sightseeing and hiking. Leashed dogs are welcome on the Gondola Express, in the cabins on the Tahoe Zephyr Express lift, and on hiking trails.
