PLANNED EXTENSION OF NORTHSTAR-AT-TAHOE™ RESORT'S LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN® LIFT WILL ENHANCE SKIER EXPERIENCE, PROVIDE DIRECT ACCESS FROM MARTIS CAMP

 

Truckee, Calif. – Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort’s Lookout Mountain ski slopes will be extended into the luxury residential community of Martis Camp, the community’s developer, DMB/Highlands, announced today.

 

Chris Ryman, speaking on behalf of Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort owners and operators, said the extension of Lookout Mountain’s ski trails to Martis Camp is “a natural extension of Lookout Mountain’s lift and trails, which will allow Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort guests to enjoy an enhanced skiing experience.”

 

Plans call for the lift extension to Martis Camp to be accompanied by the extension of four Lookout Mountain trails and the addition of a new intermediate trail to the east of the Lookout Mountain lift. The length of the lift will increase from 3,200 feet to 4,800 feet, and the project will add 46 acres of ski trails and 35 acres of snowmaking coverage.

 

The expansion of the Lookout Mountain lift and trail system will allow Martis Camp members and their guests to directly access Northstar Resort’s extensive system of ski trails. This access will come via a Doppelmayr-built detachable quad chair lift and will be supported by a base facility where lift tickets can be purchased and snow sports lessons arranged for Martis Camp members and their guests.

 

“This direct access to Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort puts Martis Camp in a class with only a handful of other residential communities in the Western United States. It also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide a broad variety of unparalleled experiences within the Martis Camp community,” said Mark Johnson, a DMB/Highlands principal.

 
Although the lift extension and trail additions are subject to approvals from Placer County and other regulatory agencies, and to customary title review, the agreements once again evidence cooperative efforts between the development and conservation interests within the Martis Valley.
