Labor Day Sidewalk Sale-a-bration, Tennis Open and Autumn Food & Wine Festival Round Out the Season

 

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Aug. 31, 2007 – Summer may be winding down, but Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort’s fall events are sure to offer something for guests of all ages. Weekends in September will be chock full of activity as Northstar™ Resort will host the popular Autumn Food & Wine Festival, the resort’s own Labor Day Street Fair, and the Tennis Open. The popular Retro Skate Tuesday Night and Saturday wine tastings will also continue weekly in the Village at Northstar ™.

 

Upcoming events at Northstar Resort include:

 

  • Northstar Resort Street Fair. Scheduled for Aug. 31-Sept. 3, guests can enjoy live music and entertainment while finding great deals of up to 70 percent off of hard and soft goods at Northstar Resort’s annual sidewalk sale-a-bration.

 

  • MS Bike Event. It’s time to meet the challenge and make a difference. It’s time to ride the MS 150 Bike Tour! Two days, 150 miles that will challenge you and reward you like no other cycling event. Come join us for a weekend of great fun at the Village at Northstar to ride through the majestic Lake Tahoe area.   • Northstar Resort Tennis Open. Tennis enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Northstar Resort Tennis Open on Sept. 8-9 – the largest tournament on the lake – which typically attracts 400-plus entries in its 12 divisions. This event is open to tennis players of all ability levels, with event categories including singles, doubles, open singles, open doubles, mixed doubles and century doubles (any combination of players adding up to 100 years of age). Winners in the open divisions receive cash prizes and/or lodging packages. Players must be able to play all tournament dates. Registration deadline is Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007.

 

  • Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival. Northstar Resort is pleased to host this year’s Autumn Food & Wine Festival. The festival includes four full days of food, wine and activities including the grape stomp, wine walks, seminars, cooking demonstrations, tastings, culinary competitions, the mountain chef cook-off and more.   • Downhill Mountain Bike Race Events. Northstar Resort’s downhill terrain offers the perfect venue for a tooth rattling downhill challenge. The series features more than 20 divisions for men, women and juniors, beginner through open class. Cash prizes and a Northstar Resort mountain bike season pass will be raffled off at each event to the men’s and women’s open class divisions.

 

The golf course and the mountain bike park will also remain open, weather and conditions permitting. Beginning September 7, the mountain bike park will be open Friday-Sunday only from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through October 7.
