THE VILLAGE AT NORTHSTAR™ EXPANDS ITS RETAIL AND RESTAURANT OFFERINGS

New Specialty Boutiques and Eateries Are Welcome Additions to
Northstar™ Resort’s Elegant Mountain Village

, Calif. – Dec. 12, 2007
Northstar Resort continues to welcome new boutiques, restaurants, bars and other shops to the Village at Northstar this winter, giving resort visitors a variety of on-site shopping and dining options. With more than 22 shops and eateries already in the Village, new doors will open this winter bringing toys, bath and body, convenience items, fine oils and savories, candle making, new après ski options and more to the resort.

"We are pleased to be able to offer our guests such a wide variety of shops, restaurants, galleries and activities in the Village at Northstar," said Heath Nielsen, vice president of commercial property and operations for the Village at Northstar. "Our intention is to provide the conveniences our guests expect, in an upscale, inviting, and entertaining environment."

As Phase Two of the Village at Northstar nears completion, the village now boasts 100,000 square feet of commercial retail space and 193 condominiums. Phase Three of construction, located across the street from the Village at Northstar, began during the spring of 2007 and upon completion during the 2008-09 winter season, will include 101 condominiums and town homes, a recreation center with outdoor pools and a fitness center.

Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar
Award-winning Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar is now open.

Grapes + Grounds
Grapes + Grounds coffee and wine bar is located inside True North.

  • Ambassador Toys
    Founded in 1997 to promote understanding and respect for cultures around the world through the beauty and creativity of toys, books and music, award-winning Ambassador Toys will open its third location this winter in the Village at Northstar.


  • Bread & Butter
    A convenience store featuring grab-and-go items, basic necessities and other items, Bread & Butter will open this December in the Village at Northstar as a great place for guests to pick up things they may have forgotten at home, food and drink items and more.

  • Ethos Gallery
    Open daily and specializing in fine American contemporary art, Ethos Gallery features thematic and one person exhibits as well as a variety of mediums, with shows changing every three to four months, numerous artist appearances, demonstrations and workshops.

  • Lather & Fizz
    Opening this winter, this bed, bath and body shop offers a variety of products for men, women and children. Customers can pamper themselves at home or on vacation with the body products, hair care, skin care, robes, linens, slippers and other spa treatment accessories Lather & Fizz offers.

  • Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar
    With five locations in the Sacramento area and many first place awards for Best Japanese and Best Sushi, Mikuni brings its renowned Japanese cuisine and fresh sushi creations to the Village at Northstar. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, with its full bar open until midnight, offering Northstar Resort guests a lively après ski scene and a new nightlife option.

  • Olivier Napa Valley
    In 1995 the ‘soon to be’ owners of this spectacular store began producing fine oils and savories for specialty stores, and soon realized the potential to start their own company. Olivier Napa Valley was established, and in 1999 they opened their first retail store located in beautiful St. Helena, California. Olivier specializes in hand-crafted tableware, linens, and bath and body products from Provence as well as a large selection of their own branded products, and will be open in the Village at Northstar in December 2007. Olivier was recently invited to place some of its special products in celebrity suites at the Academy Awards and Golden Globes during the upcoming award season.

  • Rock and Overlook Bars
    Offering resort guests two more great places to sit back, relax and enjoy the mountain setting, Rock and Overlook Bars will open this winter near the Gondola Building and on the Village Overlook, just above the skating rink. Enjoy happy hour specials at Overlook Bar daily from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. including $2 draft beer.

  • Spirits in Stone Gallery
    Spirits in Stone gallery opened in July 2007 in the Village at Northstar and features the largest collection of contemporary Shona sculpture in North America, poetic paintings by Smithsonian-acclaimed artist Wosene Kosrof, exotic masks and superb basketry. The gallery also features exquisite artisan fine jewelry from award-winning international designers featuring some of the rarest gem-quality pearls in the world.

     
  • The Village Candle Shop
    Providing guests with a creative outlet, The Village Candle Shop will give guests, families and groups the option to make their own candles in the store, and take classes to learn to make more advanced creations. Scheduled to open later this season, the shop will also feature a wide selection of ready made candles, candle accessories, home accents, stationery and more.

And, leading up to the holidays, shoppers can participate in the Village at Northstar’s Receipt Rewards program. Guests who spend $450 or more in the Village at Northstar shops between November 15, 2007 and December 24, 2007 are eligible for their choice of reward, including an adult ski/ride 07/08 lift ticket*, a mountain bike park ticket with bike rental*, a round of golf*, or a $50 off coupon valid toward a 07/08 adult or young adult season pass*. Receipts must be presented to Northstar Resort’s season pass office to redeem awards.
