NORTHSTAR-AT-TAHOE™ RESORT OPENS 420-FOOT SUPERPIPE AND OFFERS WIDE VARIETY OF SMALL, MEDIUM AND LARGE TERRAIN PARK FEATURES

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Jan. 14, 2007 – Ranked in the top ten in the nation for the past three years by TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine, Northstar™ Resort’s 420-foot Superpipe opened today, offering skiers and riders access to the best pipe in Lake Tahoe. This, in combination with the resort’s eight terrain parks featuring a variety of jumps and jibs, offers a plethora of options for skiers and riders interested in riding freestyle terrain.

“We are committed to offering skiers and riders the best pipe possible, and are confident that riders will be impressed with the work we’ve done. Our team put a lot of effort into the construction of the Superpipe and we’re excited to be opening it to the public today,” said Chris Castaneda, Northstar Resort’s Terrain Park Manager.

Consistently recognized in the industry for its terrain parks and pipes, Northstar Resort’s eight terrain parks contain small, medium and large terrain features, all designed to help skiers and riders progress their skills. Terrain features in the Burton Progression Park and Satellite Park serve as an introduction to future freestylers, and are staged low to the ground, with informational signs that provide tips on how to approach various features. Northstar Resort’s medium and large parks, including Pinball and Moonshine, boast larger versions of terrain park features as well as innovative signature features and give riders options as they progress their skills.

Northstar Resort continues to innovate in the terrain park arena, and developed The Stash in conjunction with Jake Burton and Burton team riders in an effort to create a unique run for those looking for an all-mountain freestyle experience. The Stash combines park riding with backcountry feel and features in a natural environment that contains tree runs, jibs and road jumps constructed with wood logs and other materials native to the Lake Tahoe region. Riders can get creative and enjoy discovering new features each run.

For those who want to compete in the Superpipe, Northstar Resort’s freestyle amateur event series, Pinball Rally, will feature a Superpipe competition on January 27, 2008. Participating skiers and riders will have a chance to win prizes from DC, Burton, Matix, Butterbox, Nikita, and more.
