AFFORDABLE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND AT NORTHSTAR™ RESORT’S GOLF COURSE

Free Weekly Clinics Help Golfers Make Steady Improvements All Summer

 

TRUCKEE, Calif. – June 4, 2007 – A variety of learning opportunities at Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort’s golf course will enable golfers of every age, ability level and budget to improve their game throughout the summer season. Instruction ranges from free weekly clinics to women’s specialty clinics to Junior Golf Camps to traditional lessons, all designed to make locals and guests of Northstar Resort and the surrounding area feel more comfortable and confident on the golf course.

 

Free clinics will take place each Wednesday, June through September, at 1 p.m. For golfers ages 17 and up, reservations are required as these popular clinics fill up quickly. Perfect for those looking to make consistent improvements or for those who just need a few refreshers on the fundamentals, the free clinics will focus on a different aspect of the game that the majority of the participants need to work on.

 

Opportunities for female golfers to improve their game include a Ladies Full Swing Clinic every Wednesday, June through August, at 11 a.m. for just $25. This affordable clinic creates a non-intimidating environment for women to comfortably focus on developing their skills. On Thursday evenings beginning at 5:30 p.m., ladies are invited to sip on discounted specialty cocktails, hit a free bucket of balls at the driving range, and receive free tips from the pros.

 

New this year, Junior Golf Camps designed for golfers under age 13 will cover rules, etiquette, chipping, putting and the full swing. These two-day clinics will take place July 9-10, July 23-24, August 6-7, and August 13-14 at 8:30 a.m., and are affordable at just $80. Reservations are required. Also for younger golfers, a weekly Juniors Clinic will be offered on Sundays at 10 a.m., June through August, for just $20.

 

A Full Swing Clinic open to all golfers will be held on Sunday, June through August, at 9 a.m. for just $25. Private instruction, playing lessons and private group lessons for co-workers, friends or families are also available by appointment throughout the season. Prices depend on the number of people and the length of the lesson. Lesson packages and video analysis are also available.

 

Northstar Resort’s Head Golf Professional, Pete Smith, has more than 30 years of teaching experience. “The challenge of golf for me has become finding ways to relate to my students so that I can facilitate changes in their game that will lower their score and elevate their enjoyment,“ said Smith. “I have always been a student of golf and now I find I am a student of people. I am constantly looking for ways to help people correctly learn both the fundamentals and more advanced techniques.”

 

Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort’s golf course is now open with a reduced daily rate and the earliest twilight rates in the Tahoe area, starting at 1 p.m. daily. Golfers can take advantage of the twilight rates and still be on the 19th hole by happy hour or home for dinner with the family!
