TRUCKEE and SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Aug. 29, 2007 – Skiers and riders need to act quickly to lock in current season pass discounts for the upcoming winter at Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort andNorthstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort. Pre-season discounts will end on September 30. Most season pass prices, including the Sierra™ Only and Northstar ™ Only passes, will increase by $50 effective October 1, 2007. Lake Tahoe’s original dual mountain pass, the Double Whammy, is still the best season pass value in Northern California for the 2007/2008 winter season. For those who haven’t heard, the Double Whammy is the passport to nearly 4,500 acres of terrain, 115 runs, 27 lifts (including 10 high-speed quads), 11 award-winning freestyle parks, two halfpipes and snowshoeing trails at both resorts – plus 30 kilometers of cross-country trails at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort.
The most popular Double Whammy pass, the Value pass, is currently priced at just $389. Beginning October 1, the price will increase to $439. The Double Whammy Value pass allows skiing and riding any day except blackout days at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and Sunday through Friday excluding blackout dates at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort.
The Limited Double Whammy pass is currently priced at $529 for adults and $349 for young adults but will increase to $579 for adults and $399 for young adults on October 1. The Limited pass is valid any day at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and any day excluding blackout dates at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort. The Unlimited Double Whammy pass is currently priced at $729 for adults and $449 for young adults, but will increase to $779 for adults and $499 for young adults on October 1. Designed for skiers and riders who never want to miss a powder day, the Unlimited pass allows skiers and riders to take advantage of every single day of the ski season at both resorts.
For kids ages 5 through 12 and Super Seniors 70+, the Double Whammy pass makes for an affordable family ski season. The children’s Limited pass, currently priced at $99, will increase to $119 on October 1. The Super Senior and children’s Unlimited passes, currently priced at $129, will increase to $149 on October 1.
The Double Whammy College pass makes it easier than ever for students to take study breaks on the slopes. Currently priced at $349, the College pass allows students to ski or ride any day of the season at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and any day excluding blackout dates at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort. Students of any age must show a valid college photo ID and proof of enrollment in a minimum of six class credits for the fall of 2007 semester/quarter to qualify for this pass. The Double Whammy College pass will increase to $399 on October 1.
Skiers and riders devoted to the south shore of Lake Tahoe need to know that the Sierra Resort Only Sunday through Friday pass will increase from $199 to $219 on October 1.This pass is valid Sunday through Friday excluding blackout dates. The Sierra Resort Only 7 Day pass is currently priced at $289 and will increase to $309 on October 1. The Sierra Resort Only 7 Day pass is valid any day excluding blackout dates at Sierra Resort. The Northstar Resort Monday through Friday pass is currently priced at $329 and will increase to $349 on October 1. It is valid Monday through Friday excluding blackout dates.
Passholders can add Vertical Plus ™ to their season pass and enjoy members only lift lines all season long. Plus, Vertical Plus passholders accumulate feet for each day they ski or ride as well as for resort expenditures which can be redeemed for great prizes, discounts and awards.
