NEW RETAILERS, RESTAURANTS MOVE IN TO THE VILLAGE AT NORTHSTAR™

Popular Boutiques, Bars and an Art Gallery Add New Flavor

 

TRUCKEE, Calif. – March 1, 2007 – As new stores continue to open in the Village at Northstar, they have brought an increased sense of energy to the resort. This season, the village has experienced tremendous growth with the opening of a variety of new retail stores, the addition of a new family-style Italian restaurant, and the hosting of regular events and activities. Resort guests can enjoy live music, special events, the 9,000 square foot ice rink, and the popular fire pits, where they can warm up as they reminisce with friends and family about their day while roasting s’mores ‘round an open flame.

 

The Village at Northstar is gearing up to open Phase Two this summer which includes 93 condominiums in the Catamount, 80/50 Northstar™ and Big Horn buildings, and 40,000 square feet of additional retail space to occupy the lower level of those buildings. One Village Place (80/50 Northstar™) contains 19 1/12 fractional ownership units and two fully owned penthouse suites.

 

Retailers to join the Village at Northstar this winter have included:

 

Bolam Gallery – Featuring regionally inspired representational artwork, guests will love the eclectic mix of original oil paintings, limited edition prints and fine art photography. The gallery features the working studio of artist and owner, Andrew Bolam. Visitors get the unique experience of meeting the artist in person and witnessing him create a one-of-a-kind piece of art in their presence.

 

Diseño Verde – Bringing the interior design skills of Anne Alderson, a Truckee, California resident to the Village at Northstar, Diseño Verde offers furniture, exclusive and hard-to-find antiques and custom pieces. It also serves as a showcase to local artists that produce work on a variety of media. Select accessory and gift lines round out the retail division of the studio.

 

Dog.Dog.Cat – Featuring natural, human-grade food and snacks for pets, earth-friendly grooming products, top-notch toys, collars, name tags, leashes and much more, Dog.Dog.Cat is one of the newest additions to the Village at Northstar. They also offer an enticing selection of gift items for humans.

 

Double Diamond Jewelry – Specializing in showcasing jewelry created by local artists in 14 Karat and 18 Karat gold, diamond and exquisite precious and semi-precious jewels, Double Diamond Jewelry also carries an assorted selection of one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces.

 

Gloss – A fashion boutique delivering contemporary style to men and women, Gloss is inspired by the runway. Much of the apparel found here is for those with a passion for fashion. Featuring brands from Europe and the US, Gloss offers unique looks for those desiring to be noticed, and those who want subtle elegance.

 

Loopy, A Fine Place For Yarn – Make your own scarves, gloves, hats, sweaters, or any gift you like with a full assortment of knitting materials and patterns. Guests can also purchase a variety of books, videos and ready-made cashmere and knit apparel, accessories and blankets to keep them cozy and warm.

 

Mellonhead Photo - Providing on-mountain and village guest photography and video services, Mellonhead Photo is located inside Northstar™ Resort’s activities center.

 

Shoe – Offering a distinctive selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s fashion shoes and boots, Shoe also carries jewelry, handbags and clothing. Shoe is widely recognized as providing a fashion forward selection of shoes, and was selected as one of the top six places to visit in Reno in the June 2006 issue of San Francisco Magazine.

 

New Dining Options in the Village at Northstar include:

 

Cabana Bars – Guests can sip on one of the specialty cocktails available at the cabana bars located on either side of the ice rink. The bars are open daily from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 

Rubicon Pizza & Bistro – Family-style Italian restaurant, Rubicon Pizza & Bistro serves pizzas, salads, pasta and sandwiches. The restaurant also has a full bar, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
