“Spring It On” with Activities, Shopping and Drink Specials and More in the Village at Northstar™
TRUCKEE, Calif. – March 28, 2007 – As the 2006-07 winter season winds down, Northstar Resort, in conjunction with the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association (NLTRA), is inviting guests to officially kick off the spring season and “Spring It On” in the Village at Northstar April 9-15, 2007. All week long, guests will enjoy shopping and après ski drink specials, snow volleyball, ice skating and much more.
Complete with ice carving competitions, wine tastings and live music throughout the week, Northstar Resort’s “Spring It On” festivities will be fun for all ages. Bartenders at the Cabana Bars will challenge guests to “Beat the Bartender” hula hoop contests – if the guest wins, the bartender is buying! Guests can also have their drinks served from the Patron ice luge.
Northstar Resort season passholders can enjoy first tracks and a complimentary continental breakfast on Saturday, April 14. The resort will start turning the lifts at 7:30 a.m. for Season Passholder Appreciation Day. And, college students looking to save a buck will enjoy $44 discounted lift tickets all week when they present a valid college ID to the Season Pass & Tickets Office.
Also during this week, Northstar Resort will host the Collegiate Nationals snowboarding and freeskiing open championships. In partnership with Burton Snowboards, the Collegiate Nationals will be crowning the second annual Collegiate Snowboarding Open Champion, and for the first time ever, the Collegiate Freeskiing Open Champion. College student skiers and riders of all levels are encouraged to try out to qualify for the finals where they will be competing for a $10,000 purse for each discipline. On Sunday, April 15, as the resort wraps up the ski season, guests can participate in a closing day party with drink specials, zinc oxide face painting, beach balls, snow volleyball, giveaways and live music by Stung, a tribute to the POLICE.
Guests visiting Northstar Resort are invited to shop ‘til they drop this spring, and receive Receipt Rewards from the resort. Those who purchase merchandise in the retail or food and beverage stores in the Village at Northstar between March 12, 2007 and April 15, 2007 will be rewarded with prizes for every $350 they spend. Participants who save their receipts totaling $350 or more are invited to proceed to the Northstar Resort Season Pass & Tickets Office to redeem their receipts for the prize of their choice.
