Offering More Than 30 Features and a 420-foot Superpipe, Northstar™ Resort’s Award-Winning Terrain Parks Are Sure to Please
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Feb. 1, 2007 – Recognized as a leader in terrain parks and pipes, Northstar Resort’s expertly crafted freestyle terrain parks are open, boasting more than 30 terrain features for riders to jump and jib. The resort’s 420-foot Superpipe, nationally ranked in the top ten the last three years by TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine, is also open and cut regularly, offering skiers and riders access to one of the first pipes in Lake Tahoe.
Northstar Resort’s strong commitment to quality carries over to its popular terrain parks. The resort has continued to make snow in the terrain park on Pinball, as well as in the Superpipe, offering skiers and riders optimal conditions for freestyle riding. Led by Terrain Park manager, Chris Castaneda, Northstar Resort’s terrain park specialists are dedicated to ensuring each park and its features are precisely crafted and set-up daily.
In addition to giving skiers and riders an assortment of jumps, hips, rails and boxes to jump and jib, the recent addition of the signature Nike 6.0 Seagle car feature to the park on Pinball, accessed off of the Vista Express chairlift, offers skiers and riders the ability to get creative and jib any angle of the feature.
For those who are just starting out, the satellite Burton Progression Park on Snowboard Alley features jumps, boxes and rails that are low to the ground. Learning to ride terrain park features has never been easier in this non-intimidating environment.
In an effort to continue the advancement of its terrain parks and pipes, Northstar Resort has partnered with Snow Park Technologies (SPT) to become an SPT Park resort. SPT is a recognized leader in terrain park development and are course/terrain designers for the ESPN Winter X Games, Vans Tahoe Cup, DC Mtn Lab and US Open of Snowboarding. Becoming an SPT Park requires commitment to the design, maintenance and operation of the terrain parks with a level of quality and consistency that is unmistakably recognizable. This is achieved by constantly developing the skills of the park designers and builders to keep the parks consistent, at the forefront of terrain park design, and of the highest quality.
