NORTHSTAR-AT-TAHOE™ RESORT INTRODUCES THE FIRST OF ITS 2006-07
SIGNATURE TERRAIN FEATURES
Nike 6.0 Seagal Feature First of Many Signature Terrain Park Features to Debut This Season
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Jan. 19, 2007 – Known as a resort that consistently works to progress the sport of snowboarding and its terrain park offerings, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort will introduce a variety of new signature terrain park features this season. As a result of the collaboration between Northstar™ Resort’s expert park and pipe design team, Snow Park Technologies, and companies that have been selected as Northstar Resort’s signature sponsors, skiers and riders now have access to even more unique features they can jib.
The first signature feature to join Northstar Resort’s award-winning terrain parks is the Seagal Car by Nike 6.0, the action sports division of Nike that supports the lifestyle of skate, surf, moto and snow sports. The Seagal is two vintage AMC Eagles slashed, mashed and reincarnated into the ultimate action sports vehicle.
Nike 6.0’s new feature is located in the terrain park on Pinball, off of the Vista Express chairlift. It is an 18-foot by 4.5-foot box feature that is a replica of The Seagal car Nike 6.0 is touring this winter. There are three entrances to the feature – two side take-offs and a front take-off that riders can ollie off and air to the roof or the back of the feature. All angles of the Seagal car can be jibbed, making this a unique feature addition to Northstar Resort’s terrain parks.
The Seagal feature is the first of many innovative jibs to be added to Northstar Resort’s five world-class terrain parks this season. Stay tuned for additional signature features to join Northstar Resort’s parks this season.
Northstar Resort’s terrain parks were ranked fourth in North America by TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine in its 2007 Resort Guide. Snow Park Technologies is lead by Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson, who has designed terrain parks for clients including ESPN Winter X Games, Burton US Open, Vans Tahoe Cup, DC Mountain Lab, Japan Slopestyle and many more.
