At Northstar® Resort progression means pushing it to the next level, whether it's for Jeremy, Jussi or you!

The B project was a collaboration between Burton and Snow Park Technologies at Northstar Resort. Burton’s goal was to make a giant letter B with as many functional uses for snowboarding as possible. The result was a snow feature measuring 100’ long by 80’ wide that ranged from 20’ in height on the uphill end to over 40’ in height on the downhill end. The finished feature had over 17 options including: two 18’ quarterpipes, 22' quarterpipe, down-flat-down rail, down-flat-down box, two 30' D rails, stash jib, stash bonk, jump, huge hip, pond skim, gap over pond, cannon jib, step up jump and stair gap. The B is like nothing anyone has ever seen or done before on snow. It defines progression.

It’s unrealistic that a feature like this would be built in a resort terrain park due to the incredibly difficult maintenance requirements. In fact, The B was deteriorating before our eyes every single day and had to be meticulously repaired and in some places rebuilt each night. But, the same crew responsible for building The B is also building the parks you ride at Northstar Resort.
