Come experience the starry sky above Northstar® Resort!  Join star guide and poet Tony Berendsen, the President of the Nevada Science Coalition, for a unique and educational night under the stars.  

Every tour is as different as the starry skies above however each will include a poem reading, a fun space quiz with prizes, a laser tour of the stars and constellations and a telescopic viewing.  Plus, all guests will receive a commemorative flashlight.  So bring a child’s curiosity and plenty of questions for an evening of wonder and awe.

Due to the group size please refrain from bringing your own telescopes.  We'll have two telescopes, binoculars and a Celestron Sky Scout for participants to use in order to get a great view of the night sky! 

Guests will ride the Highlands Gondola to the top where they'll meet up with Tony at the Ritz-Carlton Destination Club at 8:30 p.m..  From there he will lead you on a short hike to the Lodge at Big Springs Deck with a mountainous viewing site.  Following the tour, the group will walk back to the Highlands Gondola for your decent back down to the Village at Northstar around 10:30 p.m..

For 4 additional dates Tahoe Star Tours will be offering an evening of science, poetry, star gazing and music!  Accent Nevada, a Reno based string quartet, will keep your ears delighted while Tony takes you on a tour of the skies.  There will be hot chocolate and coffee to sip on while enjoying the entertainment and all attendees will have a chance to win a pair of binoculars.  These special Tahoe Star Tours will take place on June 19, July 17, August 13 and September 11. 

And for 1 night only Tahoe Star Tours will be partnering with the Belle Contemporary Dance Company to intermix science, poetry, star gazing, music and dance!  Celebrate the Milky Way Galaxy on August 6.

And visit Spirits In Stone, located in the Village at Northstar, to purchase a signed and framed copy of one of the poems you'll hear on your tour.  Tony wrote three poems and partnered with calligrapher and artist Carol Pallesen to create a beautiful limited edition Giclee printing available for purchase.  The three poems available for purchase are "Elders", "Cinders" and "Wonders".

Tahoe Star Tours with Accent Nevada Dates*

Tahoe Star Tours with the Belle Contemporary Dance Company*

For one night only, Tahoe Star Tours will be offering an evening of science, poetry, star gazing, music and dance!  The Belle Contemporary Dance Company, under the direction of Cari Cunningham, composed by Ty Williams and poetry by Tony Berendsen will come together to celebrate our Milky Way Galaxy.  Cari and Tony will interplay dance, poetry and science during a 90 minute performance with telescopic observation following until 10:20 p.m.  Do you know the Milky Way?  Where did it come from?  What is it's structure?  Where is our place in the Galaxy?  Join in this special night of celebration and find out!
