Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort is offering complimentary guided hikes (with hiking lift ticket) throughout the summer with a Northstar mountain expert. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn more about Northstar® Resort's flora and fauna, sixteen scenic hiking trails, and one-hundred plus miles of mountain biking trails.
Perfect for a weekend retreat with the family or flying solo, these guided hikes meet at 1:30 p.m. at the top of Zephyr by the Information sign. Don't forget to pick up your hiking lift ticket at the Season Pass office or Plaza Bikes located in the Village at Northstar™.
The free guided tour will follow the Sunset Loop Trail, a fairly easy 0.76 mile hike. The Sunset Trail Traverses the West ridge of Mt. Pluto offering spectacular views of the Pacific Crest and back side of Northstar. Along the way you will come across information vista points that describe the Northstar Habitat Management Plan, Late Seral Forests, Riparian Wildlife Areas and native bird species. This trail is a great introduction to Northstar.
Water, sunscreen and appropriate footwear is highly recommended. Leashed four-legged friends are welcome. And, as always, when you're off for a great hike, get familiar with the Hiker's Responsibility Code.
